If you or someone you know is in need of decent, affordable housing, please contact your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate by clicking on the map below. Homebuyers are selected based on several criteria including need, ability to pay and willingness to partner. Local Habitat for Humanity affiliates have selection committees that look at applicants to determine need for housing and the ability to repay a zero percent loan. Habitat affiliates are nondiscriminatory in selecting partner families. Affiliates work with them throughout the application process, and as they fulfill their requirements to become Habitat homeowners.
Habitat provides a hand-up, not a handout. Once approved, Habitat homebuyers are required to complete several hundred sweat-equity hours building their own homes and those of other partner families. Applicants must also attend financial education classes. Most families find that the experience of becoming a Habitat homeowner is a special opportunity to learn life skills in construction and money management. It’s also a great chance to connect with new neighbors and make new friends!
